Soft Bigotry in Business Reporting
After hearing a seminar on the risk and impact of policy on innovation, I would say westerners are very corrupt and equally as bad as less the developed countries. This is because multinationals want is to control governments but public offices are bastions of self interest.
AT THE END OF THE DAY, CORRUPTION IS A PERCEPTION
Between government and business, they are two evils, one very greedy, claiming to be less malevolent, another just pure evil. Multinationals want to repatriate possibly all profits and pay less tax. Government officials want kick backs and shy away from responsibilities to their people.
One is a big baby and the other sometimes an abusive step mother.
You then have the academia doing validation of claims for big business, thanks to healthy grants. The PR spin is ever impressive. For example, research in renewable energy seems never seems to bring up significant results, yet its very celebrated by these firms.
On the issue of reporting such news you get the impression that if its not white, it ain't right.
Opinions expressed are not necessarily that of the blog but that of commentators.
